Body2Body for Cirque du Soleil, Zumanity, Las Vegas

The descriptive title, Body2Body, was coined at Cirque du Soleil and is derivative of the term, hand to hand, which describes a traditional acrobatic partnering style. As an amalgam of dance and acrobatics, Body2Body, earned a distinctive reputation and was the first of its kind for a circus venue. Created and performed with Sara Joel.

Workshopping with directors, Joan Scheckel & Jake Scott
Year of production: Spring 2012
Joan Scheckel and I were workshopping at her studio space. It was exciting to work with her because we both value the feeling-perspective on physical movement. Eventually, she asked me to work one on one with a friend of hers, Jake Scott (director: Welcome to the Rileys; HBO Voyeur Project; RSA Films). The partner movement exercises I introduced were ripe for developing sensitivity to relationship and consequently enhancing the investigation of theme, actions and feelings. I also had the pleasure of solo improvisation to music under Joan's direction. A lot of wonderful surprises came from that day, as in any time we have the pleasure to play!
